I am considering building an in-game PVP arena, or set of arenas for what I am dubbing Boat Wars. The concept is that each team will consist of at least one - 2 person pair. Each pair will be in a boat, with one person being the "pilot" who will steer the boat and one person will be the "gunner" who will make attacks (sword or bow). I think we can do some basic proof of concept this weekend at the lake at Andes, if anyone is interested. If this works, different water landscapes could be built. At first, I can see a swamp biome with occasional cobweb hidden about as being particularly fun.
Thoughts/ comments greatly appreciated.

You're free to build this in Arena region, if you'd like. I can adminclaim and give you permission trust so you can trust and untrust who you'd like and the claim would have pvp enabled.

That would be awesome! Let me do testing first, to see if it works at all, first. Is their rhyme or reason to Open PVP (outside arena) on the server? |

First feasibility trial will be this evening, about 4 hours from now. Just need some peeps with boats and bows at region Andes. Going to see if: a) its possible to fight while 2 people are in a boat, and b) whether it is enjoyable at all.

Initial 30 second trail results: Pilot gets shot in the head by gunner.... who had flame and power 5 on his bow.... Could not find 2 other people to play, so yeah.....

Yeah making it on Arena would be awesome. Just be aware of killing players, as they will lose their items on them. We could place this on the games server but this seems more like a minigame, like Orion, instead of an event. Remember that the games server is only open to the public during pre-planned events.

There is retrieving items to consider al9ng with, can a boat be placed while in an admin region, or will that require command blocks.

It sounds really fun! With a little help, we can also make this an event for the games server as well. If Los is interested in taking the project up with you after his events this month. |
