So, a problem that has been discussed over and over again is /me. There are varying views on its uses and when it's unnecessary. I'm making this post to see both sides. Please keep the debate civilized and will delete if it gets out of hand.

It is valuable. I think the core issue is it's abuse for improper things (what is improper is then the question also I guess).
Consider adding or revising the poll. It is valuable for stating someone in AFK. It is not valuable for anything else as that leads to screen/chat fatigue.
My 2 cents, but it is a problem. Unfortunately I cannot answer the above poll because it is necessary but is often used for unnecessary thing (i.e. Advertising, statements of opinions, etc.)

I think /me is veey useful. Imagine a player not being able to say that is afk in that way. However i clearly see that some players tend to misuse it. So i suggest if possible for the seniors to make a /afk command or something like that which will depict if a player is afk or not and of course to disable the /me and /action.

Nooo keep /me. It's sometimes used for jokes, but that's just 5 /me's and then everyone stops. I almost never see it not being used for a purpose.

/me is used to show feelings emotions or to say if you are afk. It isnt to say jokes nor to advertise your goodies...

Proper usage of /me: describes an action in the context of the player. This means that you can use it to say “/me is fighting the ender dragon” or “/me is building a large castle” but should not be used to “say” things (such as “/me says that’s cool.”) as that is what chat is for. It also should not be used for advertising something you’re selling. And last of all, it still counts as spam if you use it a lot. Please don’t abuse the command and narrate your entire life. Think if somebody else was constantly telling you exactly what they’re doing exactly when they’re doing it. It gets annoying really fast.

Well, recently I haven't seen anybody use it other than "/me is AFK". So a cool down shouldn't be necessary, but a BH announcement would do.
