I'm in the middle of expanding my wool & dye shop to include flowers and stained clay, but I hit the max shop number limit. Is there any way to increase this for players?

I've increased it to 48 shops for now. It may be increased to 64 in future, but no more than that.

Wow, thanks a lot, Cobb. Do shops affect server lag the way item frames do?

I don't think signs have too much affect, certainly not as much as itemframes. (Zisuma did a vid about this, I should look it up again)
But the shops do have to be kept loaded, and the more shops there are the more server memory is needed.

how do you make sign shop?!?! Wix, you make a shop by clicking on a chest with a piece of redstone, then clicking on a signpost with the correct format to sell items. Here's the YouTube video tutorial that I used to learn how to open up a shop: youtu.be/cYyOVWT_1H8It's about 9 mins long, but you only need to watch it once because the guy does a good job of drilling in the info.
