My entire region has gone missing!

Have you taken a break from the server only to come back and find that everything you built was gone?
If this has happened to you, answer these three questions.
Were you off the server over 60 days?
Regions are manually regenerated to their original form when the mayor and residents within it have been gone 60 days. You may or may not see that a new mayor has taken over. As there is no way to guarantee that you are going to be active 60 days after your absence (you can always let us know, however, and we will try our best to maintain that area under your control for your return), we have to assume you have quit the server and allow that land to be used by other players.
Was your land claimed?
Claims usually automatically expire after 60 days. Often times, it will attempt to regenerate and naturalize the land on its own by removing player built structures within the claim. You can usually tell when these are the case as they often leave behind lowered water rims, and perfect chunks being overlayed with dirt and grass.
Were you the mayor to 2 regions max?
Currently, we only allow players to be mayor to 2 regions maximum. The exception to this rule is when a player names their regions, however, we do require that non-voucher regions be given up if the player has 2 voucher named regions. In rare scenarios, a senior may see that the area is not being used and will request the player to empty out the region and move out of it if they are mayor to 2 regions already. Lack of compliance may result in regeneration. Please make sure you're keeping your eyes open to messages for seniors!
Despite the fact that our server's world is rather expansive, it is still limited real estate and we want new players to have as many opportunities to enjoy the server that someone else can. To keep your region active, please be active yourself. It's just not fair to new players to dominate so many regions without active use.
