I don't think iced tea counts since it isn't typically carbonated.

Iced tea that gets served in restaurants (from what I know, only) in America is usually cold tea with ice and sugar. Here in the Netherlands, only the homemade stuff is partially like that. Ice tea from, for example, Lipton is much better. 😊

To clear it up, premade iced tea in the Netherlands is usually carbonated.
My top choice for soda is IRN BRU

I personally think that most ice tea served in soda machines is a soda, since it is in a soda machine
Water is the only exerting to that... I think

I grew up under the old wives' fairy tale that soda is made out of insects and thus never drank soda much growing up. I still prefer water to any drink. I'm not even particular to juice. Tea, though. Tea, I can drink in gallons. In fact, that is how I grew up. My mother brewed gallons of barley tea and we'd have that instead of water.
Just to clear it up. It was an old wives' fairy tale. So no, soda is not made out of insects. Albeit, having worked at a chain food restaurant, I can tell you that almost no place cleans their soda fountain. It takes a good hour to clean it properly and to do it during business hours means that they can't serve soda during cleaning. I'd often stay an hour later than closing without pay to clean these. Even if they are cleaned, it's highly unlikely that they clean it as often as required... which is once a week. I think you're lucky if they do it every year. And I also have an unnecessary feeling of disgust to canned soda as well. But it's all safe. I'm just over paranoid when it comes to things I consume.

Insects aren't that bad for you, infact, here in finland they are selling bread with insects in it. Those breads are advertised that there are insects, plenty of protein. Anyway, what comes to soda, I prefer coke or redbull, but I still mostly drink coffee.

If you don't like things that are insects, better not use shellac... it is literally the shell of the lac bug

I don't drink carbonated beverages. I just prefer a drink without the fizz.
