Hackers are common on all PC games. Our server is no exception. We don't often write about them because we don't want to give them any sort of spotlight that will attract more of them to the server.
Recently, players have ended up with some major losses from hackers. Today, we will discuss how to keep yourself safe from hackers.
1. Hackers aren't actually smart. They know how to google the word "hack" and "minecraft". They also know how to click download. So no, they're not doing anything too special when they're hacking. Knowing what they're doing is an easy way to keep yourself safe from them.
2. Hacks only control client-side actions. This means they cannot grief claimed builds. They actually can't give themselves OP. They can't teleport. They can, however, fly and clip through blocks and increase their speeds to the point it looks like they're teleporting.
3. Their actions are still logged.
Hackers often get bored at the limits that are put on them by the server. Their goal is to get attention. So the easiest way to deal with hackers is to not give them attention. Do your best to not even be near them. Do not talk to them. Let them get bored and leave. You're safest in your own claim. They cannot pvp you in there. They cannot damage your builds.
Worst case scenario, feel free to DM HayanTokki on discord when a malicious hacker is on and you don't see any immediate help. If we don't know there's a problem, then we can't fix a problem we don't know exists.

I completely agree. Report hackers immediately, hide in a safe place and ignore them. Works every time.

Just to add on this, don't be afraid to DM me on Discord as well. You can also try pinging @senior on BH Discord as well, unless any senior has something against this.

To reiterate, do not insert yourself into the situation, and if you're there leave.
Don't decide to go confront them in person. There is absolutely nothing you can do. Don't even bother engaging them in chat either. It really does just feeds their ego or whatever else it is that drives them to act the way they do.
If you grab a bow and arrows and head in the hacker's direction you will just look foolish and you really should not expect to have any losses restored should something happen to you.
It is sad to say, but things like this are going to happen again and again, so please everyone just use some common sense going forward.

Indeed. This is why I don't turn notifications off. Feel free to tag me on discord when there are no seniors or juniors that you know of on.
