mayoral house removal?

i need to know the status of two players whose houses are currently just wasting space one player was announced not to be playing anymore and the other just disappeared after a mysterious discussion. i need to remove their houses but i don't know how to suggest that to anyone or should i do it? i'm not keeping items or blocks just throwing them all in lava because they're in my claim anyway. please help maybe? i just don't know what to do. I'm not actually mayor yet but as of the region i am and those players in question knew me as such. i'm only posting this here because i cant find another category it fits.
