There's frequent discussion around here about finding a good budget PC and I just wanted to share my recent, positive experience with the Acer Aspire 1. It sells for around $200 on Amazon. (I got it for $150 by signing up for a trial of the Amazon Prime Card). The computer only has 2GB RAM BUT it has a solid state drive so it's decently fast, especially for a budget PC. Minecraft runs great on it, even with Medium settings. You would probably be okay having YouTube or Discord on in the background, but I haven't tested the memory limits too much myself. The hard drive is tiny, but that can be solved with cloud storage and the SD card slot. As with most new computers, you want to remove bloatware, and I chose to disable Cortana which helps some too. A lot of reviewers complain about the trackpad, which isn't very good, but if you're playing Minecraft you're likely going to be using a mouse anyways. Just wanted to share. You don't have to spend hundreds (or thousands) just to play Minecraft! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0746NCNSG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I would say try for a cheap, small laptop that comes in around $250, but has 4GB or RAM.

Aspire models are always that cheap. My only problem is their breaking down after a year of use. To keep up with it, buy some compressed air. All aspires are dust magnets. It helps to invest in a laptop fan as the device gets ridiculously hot after awhile and will inevitably start heat crashing. My current one will literally not stay on for longer than fifteen minutes now. Shame... I have all my psd files for BH on there. Too lazy to hd transfer. It's not bad for the price. It's not bad in general. You just get what you pay for. If you take good care of it, it works out for you a good two or three years.

Thanks for the tip Hayan. Do all the models you've had experiences with have SSD drives? I was actually surprised how cool this one stays...Sounds like they're decent but basically disposable. Might last a little longer if you are extremely careful with them.

I had two older models without and one with. The newest one I had is the one with SSD. I was quite impressed with the performance. But again, alas, it is dead. If you have the know-how, I think you'll keep it alive a good while.
