Issue regarding nether portal

I am having this issue with linking my portal. I have tried 2 different locations for my portal now and they both link to the same portal which is 100s of blocks away from either of them. The portal takes back to a location devoid of any builds (there is one stone build which is not claimed fairly far, and a dirt hut on top a hill, also far from portal) and none of the area is claimed. The portal is in a wilderness region with no mayor.
I request someone to look into the matter and help me out. I did not want to break the portal in wilderness as it might be considered griefing. This has been the case for weeks now and i checked it regularly to see if anyone is building in the area but there has been no developments.

Co-ords of dirt hut on hill: -4270, -1395
