As we all know, event boxes are shulker boxes given out on special occasions, however I feel like there are too many of them (even for a limited time) and I think the amount of event boxes should be lowered a little bit, mainly down to a couple times a year, as shulker boxes are op for new players. Lemme know what you think!

I find it highly unfair for certain players with money and extra elytras to have such a Stark advantage over new players. The end is difficult to navigate through and difficult also to find an unraided end city. This makes acquiring shulker boxes difficult. By giving it out as an event box, we allow players a more even ground to stand on. Especially with the resource world being the only place you can farm, shulker boxes become highly essential. I firmly believe new players should have access to shulker boxes.

Agreed, recently, I spent about an hour travelling far out into the end and the but only end city I found was fully raided, so event boxes I feel are a great "crutch" to help obtain the rare end city items.

Well, I spent 40k on a shulker box and 4 sponges, only to find out it was in an event box. At the very least, keep less op things inside, (maybe like spruce logs and leaves) as it keeps it nice and merry, but the main part is that you get a shulker (if possible). Maybe have a little starter kit for new players (logs, food etc.) It just adds a quick boost for them to get started.
Just a quick QnA, even though nobody said this, somebody might think why I care about this (as it doesn't benifit me), and it's because I still care about the community of BH.

We've never put anything OP inside the event boxes. Specifically things like the notch apple and horse armor are the only high end items that come in the event boxes because they're difficult to acquire if at all. Items that come in event boxes are heavily thought about before they are released to the public as to not upset the economy. We can't help it if you spent extra money. We put notice up up to a week in advance that event boxes will be given out.

At the rate people lose their Elytra to little accidents, I think a free set doesn't really affect the economy all that negatively.

Some items may affect certain people. Someone making an ocean base? Sponge. New players won't be making a mumbo jumbo base in their first week. Meanwhile older players would have more Rh and would be able to afford some sponge at the market. When I say starter kit, it is just some wood and food already in their inventory. Not sure how that would work, but there might be a way around it.

I'm not sure you know this but players already start with some, I think stone tools, to begin with which according to your point, are lost very quickly so giving them fish and wood would be just as likely to lose but with more loss attached as food is ratheir hard to come across to start of and giving them food which they proceed to lose could lead to rage quits. Just my day on the subject (If I completely misunderstood you or this reply makes no sense please disregard it half the time I don't even know what I mean)

Shulker boxes: rare, costs a lot for new players, and looking for them in the end is a big risk as you could loose all your stuff. I think the events should stay the same as the events have relatively long time periods with no events in between. If new a player does join during an event, he/she will only get 1 shulker box and its likely the number will stay one for days, weeks, even months.

If I had a Rhine every time a new player joined at spawn and died an hour later.

How long have spawn kits been standard given when a player joins the server?
