Does anyone have a decent understanting of nether portals?
1 need 3 different portals for 3 different places and i have all 3 overworld portal coords set up in the nether too divided by 8. But the problem is that they are still not linking up properly. can it be that it doesn't want to work if they are too close to each other in the nether?
Please only answer if you actually know a thing or 2 about nether portals and your answer can be of value!!

I think it MIGHT be because of the world spawn changing. not sure

If the portals are too close together, the y coordinate will be important too. Also, with close portals it's often a good idea to move the nether portals slightly further away from each other than the exact co-ords, a little extra distance can make it easier for the overworld portal to link to the intended nether portal.
Sometimes weird connections happen and it's very difficult to get them working properly.

do you need to divide the Y coord too? cause 2 overworld portals are high up on opposite sides of my base (and first) portal, which is underground.

As far as I know, the y coord isn't divided. The only limit is that overworld portals won't connect to nether portals above y128.
