Hello everyone! I'll be asking you all another question today. We all find words of inspiration to live by in our lives, whether they be simple, or complex to understand. This is what I have to ask you all today:
"Do you have a quote or saying that you live by or admire? If so, what is it, and why do you live by it / admire it?"
To answer my own question, I do have something to live by. "Whatever happens, happens, and it is what it is." It is a saying of both self-destruction and self-awareness, and is something I still look to during good, and during bad. No matter the situation, I must accept whatever comes my way, either with a smile or a frown.

"Love and love profusely." There is ever so much hate in the world, and we can't sit there and change others. But the more compassion and love you show others, strangers, friends, family, the more you live out your life enriched. It really opens up perspective and teaches you humility.

I guess the first thing that comes to mind is something my dad raised me with... "A job worth doing, is worth doing well." If you are going to spend time doing something, you might as well put all your effort into making it worth while. This can be thought of in a multitude of different lights. Like Hayan's "Love and love profusely", If something is worth loving, it is worth loving profusely. If it is worth building, it is worth building something to be proud of. If it is worth saying out loud, say it in a way that truly expresses what you desire to say.

I love that a lot Hayan. Btw "It really opens up perspective and teaches you humility", was the 'humility' on purpose or an auto-correct for 'Humanity'? Lol

"You are not your job."
I struggled with this while I was growing up a lot thinking that a career was the absolute end game. As I got older my interests changed and it became apparent that my relationships and self-respect became more and more important. It's what you do with your time that truly defines you. Your job is simply there to fund your dreams and aspirations.
The expanded Tyler Durden-Fight Club quote is good as well:
"You are not your job. You’re not how much money you have in the bank. You’re not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet. You’re not your f---ing khakis. You’re the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."

"Treat others the way that you want to be treated."
Now I admit I'm not perfect on this sense, though if I'm acting like a jerk, I'd expect people to be a jerk back to me. I try to treat everyone with patience, respect and kindness because that's how I want to be treated. Another variation of it, 'Would you be okay if someone did that to your grandma?' it's kind of the same thing but instead of how you want people to treat you, it's your grandma because some people don't care how others treat them, but will flip their lids if someone disrespects their grandma or loved one.

" **** it , we live once " i know it may sound odd at first glance ... This was the last words my grandpa said, writen down on a piece of paper 6 years ago. He was the one that brought me into skydiving. My dad never really spent much time with me when i was a kid ( Still love him very much ) due to his work as a professor, my grandpa encouraged me to try new thing all the time, we practically did everything together. im not gonna go into how he passed away... but one thing is for sure, he made me who i am today ..
